  2. Hi! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could locate a captcha
plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same
blog platform as yours and I’m having difficulty finding one?
    Thanks a lot!

I was completely blown away when a friend sent me a link to the portfolio of Mike Kus awhile back. This man can do it all, and he does it all so well. I am particularly inspired by his outstanding web and mobile design.

This week I’ve been embracing the fleeting moments of Summer as it slips into Fall. I’ve been wearing all my favorite summer outfits (anchor pants, anchor dress, stripes… sense a theme?), and taking the long way home after work as an excuse to enjoy the warm nights… So it’s no wonder that my mind wandered this morning to the work of Caitlin McGauley. Watercolor, by it’s nature, has a sense of playfulness and whimsy to it, and there is something about McCauley subject matter and colors that remind me of the light, bright moments you might associate with the warmer, brighter times of the year.

  1. Love the color choices, fonts and the ovealrl design so far nice job! Can’t wait to see more. Comment: in one of the design clips above, it looks like a followup comment by the original blogger is highlighted in a different color. I think this is a great feature, so that you can easily scan down to see if the blogger or OP in a board post has updated with a response to some of the comments. Or, maybe I have that wrong and it’s a change in coloration for different levels of members (apple seed, etc.)?

I discovered the Misprinted Type website many years ago, and have since gone back again and again, whether to buy  a font, download some free “goodies” or just simply to be inspired by the beautiful body of work displayed there. Below are a few of my favorites images from the site- but I encourage you to visit the site as well and discover your own favorites!

09 10 2012 - Weekend Snapshots

The end of a season for me is always mixed with nostalgia, a little wistfulness for what was, and anticipation for what will be… especially when it comes to Summers. For the last unofficial weekend of the season, my friends and I piled in a car and headed out to Montauk, just for the day. We went to the furtherest tip of Montauk, climbed a lighthouse, overlooked the sea, went to the beach, watched surfers all afternoon, and ate lobster rolls at a roadside stand. And even though we kept telling ourselves, “summer isn’t really over quite yet…” boy, I am glad we had this quintessential summer escape, because after labor day, everything in NYC seemed to change: despite the persistent muggy humidity, Fall seems to have arrived, at least in spirit.

Out of the blue one day, a creative director of mine asked, “Do you know who Diana Vreeland is?” No, I replied. “Well, you should.”And that was all.
